Summary
- Marshal connects your device directly to Google Calendar. In this version no calendar data passes through or is stored on any server operated for Marshal.
- Your events, search index and templates are stored on your devices.
- Marshal contains no analytics, advertising or crash-reporting software.
- Data is not sold, used for advertising or used to train AI models.
Accounts and sign-in
| Provider | Access requested | Where the sign-in is kept |
|---|---|---|
| Your Google calendars and events (read and change), and your email address, so that Marshal can show, create, edit and delete events, add Google Meet links and send invitations through Google. You enter your password with Google, not with Marshal. | Device Keychain only. |
Data on your device
| Data | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Copies of your calendars and events | Showing your calendar quickly and offline, and searching it. Removed when you remove the account. |
| Templates and settings | Reusable events and your preferences. |
| Contacts (only if you allow access) | Suggesting people when you invite them. Contacts are read on the device. Only the people you invite are sent to Google, as event guests. |
Services Marshal uses
- Google Calendar stores and syncs your events. Google's privacy policy applies to data held by Google.
- Apple Maps provides place search, map previews and travel times. The text you type as a location is sent to Apple for this purpose. Apple's privacy policy applies.
- Google Maps opens only when you choose "Open in Google Maps". Marshal does not send data to Google Maps itself.
Google user data
Marshal's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google data is used only to provide the calendar features you use in the app, and is not transferred to others except as needed to provide those features, to comply with law, or with your consent.
Deleting your data
Remove an account in Settings, Accounts, to delete its data from the device. Deleting the app deletes all of its data on that device. You can revoke Marshal's access at any time in your Google Account, under Security, Third-party connections.
Changes
If a later version adds a server feature, such as instant updates while the app is closed, this notice will be updated before that feature is available, and the feature will be off until you turn it on.
